A question about the Martyrs movie?

Mademoiselle shows a picture of a Chinese woman and tells her that the
women in the picture tried to steal chicken and paid a high price.
Apparently it happened in Longsheng, in 1912. Did it really happen? If
so, what is the name of that woman?
